Mind your head (and neck), say famous paintings

Over 20 specialised centres that will be open to the public, and events in ten cities will be part of the Italian effort to raise public awareness on early diagnosis in head and neck cancers, within the European “Make Sense Campaign”.

The campaign, promoted by the European Head and Neck Society (EHNS) during the head and neck cancer awareness week (17-21 September), is at its 6th edition.

Masterpieces by Vincent Van Gogh, Jan Vermeer and Amedeo Modigliani were modified to represent those who “lost their heads” for not being proactive.

The goal of the International campaign is to increase education on disease prevention and on the signs and symptoms of the disease, to encourage earlier presentation, diagnosis and referral.
